golden rule (of words)

We’ve all heard the golden rule. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Or if you were brought up in church reading the NIV you’ll be more familiar with ‘do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Matthew 7:12)

My husband and I, as we raise tiny humans into larger humans, try to teach this and show it through our actions.

Treating others well through our actions, we’ve noticed, isn’t always the challenge. I find myself getting into trouble with my words more than my actions.

So, why not flip the script?

If I can show my husband love through my words and my tone, how much will that teach our children? It’s no surprise how much children carry with them from their parents and childhood, so let’s be aware of the environment we are cultivating for our families.

Treat (and speak) to your husband the way you want to be treated (and spoken to).
