11 MilSpouse Resources I'm Loving Right Now
Whether you are brand new or ten years into this gig, I wanted to share a few great military based resources, people, and podcasts with you. Some you may already know about and I also encourage you to share more in the comments below.
Getting support and encouragement from military wives holds a special place in my heart. They get it. The person on the other end of the article, microphone, email, or phone call knows exactly what it’s like to be in your shoes. She knows the struggles because she is living it, too. Her stories become nutrients for my soul and help nourish our community.
Revisit this list as often as necessary.
Podcasts
PRAISE THROUGH IT, a podcast where we're going to practice seeing the good through the bad, the beauty through the mess, the order through the chaos. Based on Phil. 4:8, this is a space to help you learn how to keep the true and good things in mind, a space to be reminded of the noble and the commendable and the praiseworthy, even among the chaos. A space to take a deep breath.
We are going to talk the real talk. The hard talks. Mental Illness, being a mom, not a mom, stay-at-home mom. Postpartum depression, anxiety, etc. Just dive deep into issues that really should be at the forefront of our conversations.
For the military wives who are overwhelmed, who are exhausted, who are lonely or scared or stressed, who keep going but sometimes need to be reminded how, exactly, to keep going. Consider this podcast your weekly reminder: You’re not alone and you’re gonna make it. Sarah Sandifer guides you into a way of living military life where you keep your courage no matter what, so that even in the chaos you have a strong center that holds.
